How to get the most out of PLUS

PLUS is the most powerful learning system for GCSE Science.

In PLUS, all of the GCSE Science topics are clearly arranged into learning journeys.

What this means is that topics are sequenced to take students from the simplest concepts to the most advanced.

Questions

Questions are at the heart of PLUS.

As a student, there are facts that you need to learn and concepts that you need to understand.

To help you, each module contains hundreds of questions, carefully designed for either learning or understanding.

Every question is instantly marked, showing you what you can do and what you need to work on.

And high-quality feedback provides advice on how to make progress.

There are no limits so you can take any quiz as many times as you like.

Progress tracker

PLUS keeps track of everything that you do.

Every answer that you enter is recorded.

At any point, you can check your progress on any of the topics and on any of the questions.

Simply click on “My Progress” in the header bar.

This will show you all the modules that you have started.

Click on any module to open the quizzes.

Click on “View Statistics” to see your scores for every question AND the answers that you entered.

Can I get top grades with PLUS?

Of course, I cannot guarantee anyone a level 9.

But if you’re aiming for high grades, then PLUS can help you to achieve them.

Where do I start?

The easiest way to start is simply follow the learning journeys.

In other words, make your way through the lessons in the order shown.

Alternatively, if you know that you struggle with a certain topic, then consider starting there.

Remember that you can attempt any quiz as many times as you like and every answer is recorded.

How many times should I attempt each quiz?

Simply put, repeat each quiz until you get everything correct.

The best way to do this is to really pay attention to the feedback, especially for questions that you get wrong.

I would recommend trying three of four quizzes in one session.

Each quiz takes a relatively short amount of time to complete.

Make your way through each quiz, checking your progress and reading the feedback,

At the end, try the quizzes again and see how you improve.

The more times you attempt a quiz, you more you will embed your learning.
