Structure of Aldehydes and Ketones

In this video, we look at the structure of aldehydes and ketones, which are both carbonyl compounds. First we look at how the position of the carbonyl group determines whether a compound is an aldehyde or a ketone. We then look at how we name aldehydes and ketones, including the use of numbers in ketone naming. Finally, we explore the polarity of the carbonyl group and see why this can lead to nucleophilic addition.
